Owning a dog is an incredible privilege and we recognize that their safety and well-being means everything to you.
Currently, UK law does not demand that ingredients in pet cosmetics should be listed on their label. However, because we have nothing to hide, we're committed to going that one step further.
At Pro Pooch we believe that the ingredients used in pet care products should be selected with the same care and attention as the items lining the shelves in our own homes.
Included below is a complete list of our ingredients, which products they can be found in as well as an explanation of the purpose of each so that you are able to make as informed a decision as possible when selecting items to use in the care and well-being of your dog.
Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer
Synthetic
Emulsifies and stabilizes. This is here to make certain our Oatmeal and Aloe shampoo doesn't separate.
Activated Charcoal Beads
Naturally Derived
Biodegradable and naturally derived. The charcoal becomes 'activated' when it is processed in extremely high temperatures. These high temperatures change the internal composition of the charcoal making it more porous and able to absorb impurities which gives it its unique deep cleansing properties.
Alkyl Polyglucoside
Naturally Derived
This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is the active ingredient in our Eye Drops.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice
Natural
Often referred to as a 'wonder plant'. Aloe Vera extracts have been used throughout history to both heal and protect. A key ingredient in our Balms and Tear Stain Remover.
Arnica Infused Sunflower Oil
Natural
Also known as Arnica montana. This ingredient is found in our Paw Balm as it has long been associated with wound healing and soothing bumps and bruises. Arnica oil is energizing, powerful, a curative, resistant and protecting to the skin.
Avena Sativa Kernel Flour
Natural
Also known as Oat Straw. The green stem of common oats has been passed down through generations as a herbal supporter of health. Used in our Hydrating Oatmeal and Aloe shampoo as an anti-itch agent.
Benzalkonium Chloride
Naturally Derived
Biocide. This is a chemical substance which is designed to disinfect and destroy harmful organisms. A key ingredient in our Artificial Grass Cleaner.
Benzisothiazolinone
Synthetic
Preservative. This is added to our Stain and Odor remover to prevent changes to its chemical composition over time. It also kills and prevents the growth of microorganisms.
Blue Dye
Synthetic
Dye. Used in our Artificial Grass Cleaner to restore color.
Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride
Synthetic
Conditioning agent. Used in our Detangling Spray to provide soft, improved, texture to your dog's hair.
Citric Acid
Natural
Mild organic acid used to stabilize and balance the ingredients in our Baby Powder Cologne.
Citrus Aurantifolia (Key Lime) Peel Extract
Natural
Botanical Extract. It's mildly acidic nature and ability to combat bacteria has meant lime has been employed for centuries as a natural cleanser. Found in our Ear Cleaner.
Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot Orange) Leaf Extract
Natural
Botanical Extract. Bergamot Orange not only smells great but has incredible antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties. Found in our Ear Cleaner.
Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Organic Orange) Peel Extract

Botanical Extract. A restorative fruit which assists in the hydration of the skin and contributes to natural moisturizing factors. The mild fruit acids found in Orange extract aid in renewal and give skin a healthy appeal. A key ingredient in our Ear Cleaner.
Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Extract

Botanical Extract. Packed full of antioxidants and selected especially for its nourishing and protective qualities. A key ingredient in our Ear Cleaner.
Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract
Natural
Botanical Extract. Lemon is known for its natural antibacterial, revitalizing and refreshing qualities. Found in our Ear Cleaner.
Citrus Nobilis (Tangerine) Peel Extract
Natural
Botanical Extract. Renowned for its ability to both moisturize and replenish, Tangerine has powerful antioxidant properties. Found in our Ear Cleaner.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Naturally Derived
Derived from coconut oil. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is found in our Activated Charcoal Shampoo and is used as a surfactant and thickener.
Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein
Naturally Derived
Wheat derivative. This is a key constituent in our Oat Shampoo and serves to improve hair texture, body and manageability.
Coconut Oil
Natural
Coconut Oil is a natural oil derived from a coconut. It has an extremely high vitamin E content and is known for its antifungal and antibacterial properties. Found in our Itchy Skin Balm.
De-Ionised Water
Natural
Used as a dilutant in our eye drops a chemical compound derived from hydrogen and oxygen. Completely odor free and tasteless and it is essential for most animal and plant life. Deionized is water that has the ions removed in order to make it purer than ordinary water. Commonly used in fish tanks due to its high-quality.
Decyl Glucoside
Naturally Derived
This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is an active ingredient in our Activated Charcoal Shampoo and derived from palm, corn sugar or coconut.
Didecyldimonium Chloride
Synthetic
This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is an active ingredient in our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo.
Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate
Naturally Derived
This is a surfactant and derived from coconut oil. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is an active ingredient in our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo.
DMDM Hydantoin
Synthetic
Preservative. This is added to our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo and Detangling Spray to prevent changes to its chemical composition over time. It also kills and prevents the growth of microorganisms.
DMDM Hydantoin (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
Synthetic
Water-soluble preservative. This is added to our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo to prevent changes to its chemical composition over time.
Fatty Acid Amido Alkyl Betaine

This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is an active ingredient in our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo.
Geranium Oil

Geranium oil, is also known as Rose Geranium Oil or Geranyl Tilgate is found in our Paw Balm. Geranium oil is extracted from the stems, leaves and flowers of the geranium plant. Geranium oil is considered nontoxic, nonirritant and generally non-sensitizing. Geranium Oil has been used since the time of Ancient Egypt to reduce inflammation and reduce infection.

This ensures our Dog Breath Freshener maintains the correct thickness.
Laureth-10
Synthetic
This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is an active ingredient in our Artificial Grass Cleaner.
Lauryl Glucoside
Naturally Derived
This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This helps our Artificial Grass Cleaner to foam.
Lavender Oil
Natural
Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) is known as one of the most versatile of all the essential oils. It is included in our Skin Balm for its anti-inflammatory properties. Lavender is renowned for its ability to reduce swelling, itching and redness.
Mandarin Oil
Natural
The mandarin fruit has been cultivated in China and Japan for over 3000 years and is included in our Paw Balm for its antiseptic properties. Mandarin oil forms a protective layer over areas affected by wounds and blocks further microbes from entering. Its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties help keep your dog's wounds safe and guards against germs and potential infections.
Manuka Honey
Natural
Manuka honey is produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate the manuka bush. Honey has been used for thousands of years to treat multiple conditions but Manuka is seen as especially potent due to its high concentrations of methylglyoxal (MG) which has antibacterial and antibiotic effects.
Microcrystalline Wax
Synthetic
Emulsifies and stabilizes. Microcrystalline Wax has fine crystals and ensures that our Balms don't separate.
Mineral Oil
Synthetic
Used to moisturize. A highly refined and purified ingredient. Mineral oil produces an occlusive (protective) layer for skin preventing water loss, which keeps skin hydrated and protects it against irritation from outside sources. Found in all our Balms.
Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract
Natural
Botanical extract. Also known as Indian Lotus renowned in traditional medicine for its nourishing, balancing and antioxidant properties.
Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose Oil) Seed Extract
Natural
Botanical extract. Evening Primrose Oil is famous for its healing benefits which is thought to derive from its high gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content, an omega-6 fatty acid found in plant oils. A key ingredient in our Tear Stain Remover.
Olive Refined Oil

Olive oil is a natural oil extracted from olives, the fatty fruit of the olive tree. Olive oil is renowned as an anti-inflammatory due to the presence of oleocanthal a powerful anti-oxidant. Olive oil is also known for its natural anti-bacterial properties.
Panax Ginseng Root Extract
Natural Botanical Extract.
Ginseng has been renowned for centuries for its potent restorative and health-giving properties. A key ingredient in our Tear Stain Remover.
Panthenol
Naturally Derived
Also referred to as Provitamin B5. This vitamin derivative ensures your dog's skin remains hydrated and soft. Found in our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo.

A broad term used to refer to any naturally derived fragrance.
Passiflora Incarnata (Purple Passionflower) Extract

Botanical Extract.
A fast-growing perennial vine which is renowned for its calming and rejuvenating effects. It can be found in our Tear Stain Remover.

Used to stabilize and preserve the ingredients in our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo.

An ingredient used in our Breath Freshener that helps mix other oil and water based components together.

Potassium Sorbate

Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of sorbic acid. Its key role is as a preservative in our Activated Charcoal Shampoo where it serves to prevent microorganisms from growing.
PPG-2 Methyl Ether

This is a solvent found within our Stain and Odor Remover. Put simply this is the solution into which all the other ingredients are mixed to ensure they work as they should.
Red Dye

Dye. Used in our Artificial Grass Cleaner to restore color.
Sodium Benzoate (and) Potassium Sorbate
Naturally Derived
Preservative. This is added to our Mouthwash to prevent changes to its chemical composition over time.
Sodium Bicarbonate
Naturally Derived
Found in our Mouthwash, Sodium Bicarbonate is a mild abrasive commonly found in toothpaste. Its abrasive nature effectively cleans and removes surface stains from your dog's teeth.
Sodium Hydroxide
Synthetic
An inorganic compound. This is found in Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo and used as a means of balancing its pH level.
Sodium Hypochlorite
Synthetic
A powerful cleaner which has been in use as a potent disinfectant since the 18th Century. Proven highly effective in killing germs and bacteria. A key ingredient in our Eye Drops although very mild in effect.
Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate
Naturally Derived
This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles. This is an active ingredient in our Oatmeal and Aloe Shampoo and our Mouthwash. Not to be confused with our sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate is derived from sarcosine, a natural amino acid.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

This is a surfactant. They are most commonly added to remove dirt from skin, clothes and household articles.

A natural sweetener. Found in our Mouthwash and added to make it taste more pleasant for your dog.
Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree and was used as a traditional medicine by Aborigines for centuries. Tea Tree Oil can be found in our Paw Balm and is included as a cleanser and antiseptic, research has also demonstrated that Tea Tree Oil reduces inflammation in wounds.
Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
Naturally Derived
Found in our Detangling Spray it is a multi-purpose preservative booster.
Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate is made from plant material and is biodegradable.
Tocopheryl Acetate
Natural
This is another word for Vitamin E. You can find this in our Baby Powder Cologne where it works to help condition your dog's coat.
Vegetable Glycerine
Naturally Derived
This is a surfactant. Vegetable glycerin is also referred to as glycerol and can be made from coconut, soy or palm oil.
Wheat Germ Oil
Natural
Wheat germ is part of a wheat kernel and is responsible for helping the plant reproduce and spawn new wheat. It is a major nutritional component of whole grain wheat. It is included in our balms as an incredible source of Vitamin E which has proven antioxidant qualities.
Xantham Gum
Naturally Derived
Derived from corn syrup. Xantham gum is used in our Activated Charcoal Shampoo as a stabilizer and thickener.
Yellow Dye

Dye. Used in our Artificial Grass Cleaner to restore color.
Zinc Ricinoleate

Derived from the Castor Bean Plant. You can find this in our Stain and Odor Remover. It is this active ingredient which helps it neutralize and absorb odors.
